The week that has past has been one to rock the world and it would be unnatural for me to do my weekly post without showing my support for the people who have been effected by all recent tragedies. Instead of focusing on the negative I am going to focus on the signs of support and solidarity that people and entire nations can show in order to support each other. It is truly in times of crisis that great humanity can shine through.

4. Peony in Love

Instead of going to the gym today I sat in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza and enjoyed some downtime with a good book and a hot chocolate. Such an activity was a very frequent one for me when I was in college and I am finally working it back into my routine. I am only a few chapters into this book but I’m already hooked. Set in the era where the Ming Dynasty has just fallen the story of Peony is already intriguing and heart wrenching. I am dying to found out where the story goes next.

I also stumbled across this tutorial for making cute paper peony flowers while I was researching this book. I might give it a try someday soon!

5. Quote of the Week

When it seems like nothing is right and for when you truly question what you are doing with your life this quote says it all. Be gentle on your self sometimes because you are always doing the best you can.

Wishing you all a great and hopefully peaceful week,
