The last few months have been ones of massive change for me and now that everything has settled, and I finally have a wifi connection at home again, I am able to get back to my blog and readers who have been sorely neglected since August. I can only apologize for this but seen as my life was under construction blogging had to take a backseat for awhile!
Since deciding to pick up my life and move half way across the world everything has changed and thankfully it has all been mostly for the better. I am now a stable graduate with a good job and a really nice place to live which is something I always hoped for. I did not ever dream that I would become a primary school teacher but here I am and I can say that I’m not too bad at it!
Abu Dhabi as a place to live is incredibly different from home. There is always something to do here! I have been to several brunches by now which are a really fun way to spend your Fridays. I am still adjusting to the weekend being on Fridays and Saturdays though! I graduated college while I was out here and even though I was upset to not be at home to share the moment with my friends and family I more than made up for it out here. So far the Flavours Brunch at the Sheraton Hotel is my favourite but there is many more still on the list to hit.
We weren’t here very long when we made a trip to see Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the city. It was without a doubt one of the most awe-inspiring places I have ever been to. It is just so beautiful and I loved the fact that we went at night time because I felt that everything was more mystical in the darkness.
Last weekend I went to The Taste of Abu Dhabi and got to try some really yummy food from some of the top restaurants in the city. We also got to see The Wailers play which was awesome. I unfortunately forgot to save my snapchats that night so I only have this picture of a delicious curry from Boa.
On the overall I have settled in quite well to my new life here in the UAE and as a fresh graduate I could not have found a better place to transition into adult life. Of course that doesn’t mean that I don’t miss the green fields of home. Ireland will always be home but for now Abu Dhabi is my life and I’m liking it.
Until next time (and I promise I will be posting far more regularly again) I hope you’ve enjoyed my update.
